Richard Pietro ends his Canadian Tour in Ottawa with the Open Government Grand Bazaar

Tuesday, September 16, 2014 - 10:00

Richard Pietro is an average citizen who has undertaken to do something very much above average. On July 2nd, 2014 he started a cross-Canada motorcycle tour with the objective of bringing attention to, and encouraging citizen engagement in, the Open Government & Open Data movements.

His tour took him from Toronto, ON, east to Charlottetown, PEI, west to Victoria, BC, and back to the Nation’s Capital. There were between 20 and 30 official stops in between where formal events were scheduled, and hundreds of conversations at unofficial stops where Richard engaged people in on Open Government, Open Data and Civic Engagement conversations. Ottawa was the last stop.
