E-Campaigning Training

Wednesday, October 15, 2014 - 09:00

Duane Raymond and FairSay may not be big names in the Ottawa Non-Profit world, he is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading e-campaigning experts and pioneers. Duane was Oxfam GB's first e-campaigning manager and grew the online supporter base from 5,000 to 400,000 in 3 years.  He pioneered Oxfam GB's e-campaigning activity from 2001-2004 and has been running FairSay - a campaigning consultancy - ever since. The FairSay eCampaigning Forum has been running a successful annual conference since 2002 in Oxford with a focus on eCampaigning, fundraising and leadership.  Duane is taking that experience on the road with the eCampaigning Training Forum. This community is 1,800+ campaigners strong and includes campaigners around the globe. He has been called the 'leading e-campaigning guru' by Linda Butcher, CEO of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation and the 'godfather of good geekery' by Tom Allen of ActionAid International. He has works with many of the world’s leading campaigning organisations and campaigns, including Greenpeace, Oxfam, Amnesty, WWF, Make Poverty History, 1Goal Campaign and many more.’

On October 15th, Duane will be giving his first FairSay Training Tour in Canada. OpenConcept is happy to be partnering with Duane on the Ottawa leg of this tour. We have a long history of working with advocates working for change. By helping to bring this event to Ottawa, we hope to build a stronger community around online activism, particularly in the lead-up to the next federal election. The training will also feature George Irish, who will share his experience with fundraising and campaigning with Amnesty International Canada.
