I was happy to stumble across the Architecture for Humanity Cafe Press Store earlier today. It sells funny t-shirts that promote the organization with simple text like "Design Like You Give a Damn", "Running for Humanity" and "This Building is esthetically Displeasing".

I had heard about this group first through Cameron Sinclair's TED Prize presentation on a open source architecture to house the world. Architecture for Humanity is a a nonprofit that helps architects apply their skills to humanitarian efforts. It's interesting also to think about what could happen if we all worked collaboratively on projects like the Open Architecture Network (a nice Drupal site btw).

There are all kinds of places where we need to learn more quickly how to collaborate together to achieve the change we need to see in this world. Hopefully we'll be able to organize a web campaign studio to begin discussing these issues here in Ottawa in the coming months. More people with passion need to learn how to use online & off line tools for change.

I did a quick search to see if there were any other NGOs using CafePress as a storefront for merchandising and only found the PETA store. There were lots of other progressive people pumping out merchandise here, but I couldn't find an easy way to find out if there were non-profits doing this specifically.
